Kind of a possibly stupid question here, but, I'm wondering if anyone out there has a used Custom harp they do not like/want anymore who'd be willing to part with it for a fair price?

I'm just curious to check one out BIG BUT, I am very tight on the funds at the moment as far as purchasing a new custom.

Even parts would be considered, combs, reed plates, ect...

thanks much, and try not to make fun of me too much on here. just a little bit though....ha.. Have a good one,

What kind of "fair price" are you thinking of?

Any interest in making your own, taught in person by someone who's been doing it for several years? Contact me off-list, if you're willing to drive to NOLA one weekend.

Buy one from Oldwailer. He spent a week with me learning how to build harps.

There ya go! Although, I can't imagine anyone wanting to get rid of a good custom at a 'low' price unless they had a huge surplus.

I'm kinda thinking the idea behind buying Customs is to keep them and just maintain them as long as possible. As the saying goes you can have my Buddha Harp when you pry it from my cold dead....... Lips?

I've seen cases where customizers in training bought custom harps mostly to study, and then sold them off. For the case that I can remember, the discount was 30% off for some Harrison Golden Melodies.

Thanks for all the responces and thanks for the offer Toddlgreene. If I ever can find a second of free time I will try to take you up on that. Maybe I'll be playing in your area sometime with my band in your area and that'll give me an excuse to make it down there.

Bluzdude46, you're probably dead right about that, and that makes me wanna try one of those Zen harps for sure.

Sorry to ask this in the thread, but Buddha, what exactly is the difference in the reedwork in the Lotus and the other 2 models? I read your website, but it was kind of unclear to me, OR maybe my brain wasn't working right that day.

And sure, i do want to kinda study a Custom, and I do fiddle around trying to "customize" my own harps, but it's hard when you have nothing to compare it to.

I'll be able to afford one i'm sure eventually ya know, but hey, can't hurt to ask, may have been someone out there who decided they may have one they want to sell or one they didn't end up using as much as they thought they would have, or etc....

Anyways, thanks all for the help and advice, i'll take it.

P.S. Anyone on here know if any of the big boys such as "Buddah" or anyone else who sells just parts?
Such as custom combs? ect... I know kinda weird as well, but i'm just curious. Thank yall for putting up with me. peace,

Oh, and sorry OldWailer, i shouldn't have said "Fair Price" most of the custom prices i see are MORE than fair. I should have said a LOW price.
sorry, take care,

the lotus has a basic level of reed work don't go into specifics because overall they don't matter. The lotus is better than any out of the box harp and the zen/buddha is better than the lotus and comes with a custom comb.

I do sell parts individually and around the first of the year i'm launching a new website that will detail everything. The current one is one that I do not control and couldn't even get it close to what I wanted when it was started.

One of the great values of buying one of my harps are the free hour long lessons that to date have yet to be under an hour.

Thanks Buddha, i'll be awaiting that new site.
Could you possibly post a list of PARTS that you sell on the forum or just email me at:
SHOP at OVERBLOWHARMONICA dotcom

Appreciate the infos.

AND yeah, if anyone out there for some INSANE reason, decides they have a custom they want to get rid of, you can also email me at the above address.

thanks all of you,
