I learned to replace reeds on my cheap harp, and I'm ready to plunge, putting a draw 4 on my old Bb harp. Only problem: I have no spare reed. My cheap harps have a different profile than my Bb, which is a special 20.
So...anyone out there willing to sell me a reed? Or some of their junked harps?

I've not tried to get into replacing reeds yet, but will eventually. Which reeds would work for you on a Special 20 Bb 4 draw? Interesting subject as well. I may have a D Special 20 that has a missing reed. lemme know more info. ---------- $Daddy Rich$ "The Blues is Ok!"

I think you can buy spare reeds from harp-online.com under the spare parts section.
I think a 4 draw reed from an A, Bb or C harp will be OK with a bit of tuning. The reeds from marine bands, special 20's and golden melodies can be swapped over.

You could buy a second hand special 20 or marine band off ebay, and use that for spare reeds.

I'm in the US. A D harp won't work (unless I drastically retune), as it does not have a C on it (it has C#'s instead). Though, now that you mention it, I have a D harp with a flatted out 5 draw.
