I have become curious about this style of playing. I listened to PT Gazell on youtube, and I am impressed. I like the possibilities and the sound. So, has anyone here tried it? Or use it as their primary method of playing?
What is the best material to use for valves, and where do you get it, etc...?

This topic go a lot of response before at: Half-Valving MBH Post
I also just posted a similar post on Harmonica Space www.harmonicaspace.com
(You'll have to log in to read it)
That said, PT Gazell recommends Ultra-Suede for valving material. You have to go to a Fabric Store to find it.

By coincidence I have just started doing this to some harps this weekend. From what I have got so far, the results are great. It makes the instrument very expressive. Although I've started with some beginner's models (rather than experiment with my good ones), they are now useful and playable harps in their own right.
P.S. Here is another discussion on this forum: http://www.modernbluesharmonica.com/board/board_topic/5560960/474630.htm

I have been playing half-valved exclusively now for 5 years. The expressiveness alone is worth exploring this technique in my opinion. ---------- "Life...10 Holes & 20 Reeds At A Time"
