My relatives have been asking about Christmas presents. I really want to start practicing working on harps as I have yet to actually take the plunge and get my hands dirty. What tools should I ask for (looking for solid brands/ specific tools people like)? I know there are tons of youtube videos on harp moding but I can't get youtube on this particular computer. Is there any paper source I could get that anyone knows about?

What aspect of harp modding are you interested in wallyns? Are you talking reed work where you only need a couple of basic tools, or are you considering, making combs, drilling reedplates, opening up coverplates etc where slightly more sophisticated tools would be required?

For reed work I would go for Richard Sleigh's tool kit, and his book is good to get you started.

The Rupert Oyster, repair your harmonica DVD has a lot of information on it too.

There is also a lot of good tools on harp-onloine.com, I got some drill bits, taps and screws from there.

If you are working on marine bands a dremil drill is is quite handy for drilling and sanding.
