If it's ther Harmon I think it may be...they own MANY of the "reputable" brands as well as MANY of the more "budget-friendly" brands. Some of their budget stuff is kind of a crap shoot, like everybody else's. The good thing it, it seems like the overall level of electronics has risen so high it's hard to find stuff that is good for nothing. Since harp players long for the sound of old-vintage...frankly substandard audio equipment of the past, many times a cheap product from the present is exactly the ticket. Google them..you'll see a lot of names you recognize...especially in Pro audio.

just my 2 cents but you can probably do better on ebay for a bullet mic. i'd look for either a crystal or controlled magnetic powered bullet, preferably with volume control. paint, finish, etc etc, the rest is gravy. harp being the weird animal it is, it takes something a bit different like a "sub standard" mic to bring out its characteristics without feedback, up to a level near where the rest of the band is playing. a year ago i got one of the e-v m43u's we see on ebay a lot. it was low inpedance so i sent it off to greg heumann and he installed a transformer in the shell and added a volume pot, plus a switchcraft connector, and it's the best sounding mic. it wasn't real cheap but it WAS really worth it!
adam, our gracious host here, uses a particular shure ball type mic, i think into a solid state amp, that reproduces with good clarity. he has a couple of links to some good mic sellers in the mic section here.
