Listening to Bar Rockin Blues on Itunes Radio and jamming to a tune and said hmmm this sounds like Satan and Adam. Sure enough.
Hadn't heard this one before, Adam is this a new one? Or do I just need to get the old albums?

"I Want You" was the first tune we recorded on our very first day in the studio back in February of 1990. It was the lead cut on our first album, HARLEM BLUES. We were firing on all 16 cylinders, definitely.

Hi Iggy, My understanding of "Kudzu" is; it is a running vine, and it grows/runs very quickly. Now a big problem in Southern USA. Looks like it might have something to do with Adam being a runner! Cheers Rob

It is actually answered in one of his videos. If I remember right the runner of a kudzu is the part of the vine that grows out to new lands... ---------- germanharpist on YT. =;-)

roberth5/GermanHarpist Thank you for the info! Now you got my curiosity peaked about the "Kudzu" vine. I'll try to find that vid where Adam talks about it, or if anyone knows please post it. I'll keep a heads up.
Cheers! Eric

The Kudzu is known as an "unstoppable" vine that grows anywhere and everywhere at rapid speeds. Once an area has Kudzu growing on it it's very difficult to get rid of it.

When I first moved from upper Manhattan (NYC) to Oxford, Mississippi in 2002, mid-August, I started running on the back roads. They were hot, humid, lush, and the kudzu vines were everywhere. They're a very aggressive plant that basically resurfaces all the local vegetation between early June and late September. And kudzu has a distinctive earthy smell. I wasn't naming myself after the smell, just the nice feeling of having landed on my feet--so to speak--in a really cool countryside place where I could get back into shape, dodge the local dogs on back roads, and mellow out a bit.
When I began to contribute to a running website called "coolrunning.com," I took the handle kudzurunner. You can probably find a lot of my posts to that website and letsrun.com by googling kudzurunner and 5K, etc.
I contribute a fair bit to letsrun.com
Most of us have several lives.
I'm an old dog. New tricks can be hard. So when it came time to take a handle at this forum, I decided to keep the one I had.
I run 45-50 miles a week, every week. These days I spend a lot more time running than playing harmonica. That's just where I am in my life. That's my discipline. But the same rules apply. Keep the beat; lay down a good base (daily practice); learn what works and what doesn't work; visualize in advance of the big performances; don't overthink. When it's showtime, just get out there and throw down.

I'm running the St. Jude Half Marathon this weekend in Memphis. Last year, at age 50, I ran 1:31:44. This year I'm trying to break 1:31.
For those of you who don't run, I'm trying to run 6:57 pace for 13.1 miles. The world record, held by Haile Gebreselassie or Sammy Wanjiru, is just under 4:30 pace. So I'm hardly competitive. But it's a solid pace for a blues guy.

Adam, Form upper Manhattan (NYC) to the back roads of Oxford, Mississippi, Wow, what a shock to one's system! I think for the better. ( for one's state of being!) Although, I can see how you could stay in top form in both locals, keeping a blistering fast pace dodging dogs in Oxford, and thugs in Manhattan! It's.....RUN FAST OR DIE!!!!!!!!!!!! Either way, Adam, you manage to find great ways for motivation!
All kidding aside, I love running, biking country back roads as well. Thank you for your response to my Kudzu vine query.
One more Q..... Who do you think you look like in the cover photo on your HARLEM BLUES CD? better yet, ask your wife, friends, and co-workers.
Good luck this weekend! Run like wind! Adam, here's a tip that might help? Can you ask the race organizers if it's ok that you are chased by rabid dogs, and killer thugs who have a hatred for runners. You might get a little closer to that 4:30 pace! Just a thought.
