Hi guys
I got one of these of ebay for £12 ($20), is my first mic
and just wanted to know if anyones had any experience with it (good or bad). Would go for somthing a bit more pricy be aint got no job

a fellow egg head lol,My 1st mic i got was a egg static, you can greatly improve the sound by finding a medicine bottle cut out the bottom slid the egg halfway in tape it up good with black tape i added some foam in the bottle,Now the egg sounds allright it will give it more low end something the egg needs bad and a hollow sound thats kinda cool you can reduce the hollow sound some by cutting the bottle in half before mounting the egg in it.It will make that mic 3 times better really it does i used it for a couple of gigs before i got my green bullet.It doent have the drive like a bullet but im glad i got it cause it does have a different sound but the bottle is a must.I got the idea from the blues in a bottle mic i saw and thought why not try it on the egg it works you copy the embede code off YT then paste it on your post.Im trying to put a pic of the egg i redone but cant firgure out how to post just a pic

I use an eggstatic as well [going to get a green bullet when I have some money and a band to justify shelling out for one]. I'd appreciate a pic of what you mean about your mod as I can't picture in my mind quite what you mean.

thanks, only just managed to get back to the pc [not allowed to post at work :^( ].
Do you not use the volume knob on the mic?
I guess the mod stops the sound getting round the back of the element, something I had wondered about with all the holes in the back of the mic after I read stuff here [I think] about mics and sealing the front from the back. If that makes any sense at all.

mine doesnt have a volume knob i wish it did but the one i got off ebay didnt have one.Im not sure why it adds more bass to the soound but it does fatten it up a lot
