To say at least.. :)

One could spend years and years with those lessons - hard to imagine more comprehensive curriculum of lessons from anywhere.. I'm really glad we are achieving the level of maturity in the technology where we can really start to utilize it in the ways that it can benefit the majority..

Seems like we'll have more option each day to develop in the art of harmonica playing. :)

$20 a month here I come.

Looks really good. Has anyone signed up and started using the site ie feedback would be good?

Currently, apart from Adams site I am signed up with Tony Eyers at Harmonica Academy & am very happy with what is offered. I used to use Dave Gage's site but gave it away ie it was ok but Adams is much better.

The guy in the intro movie is funny...

"HI, I'm having trouble with my bends, overblows, overdraw and my.... (thank god I'm getting payed for this.. ;)"

Looks top-notch. The idea of publishing the lessons and recommendations for other people so that everybody can learn from these is very neat.

Testimonials please... ;)

Interesting times - I wonder how the subscription sites will fair versus the pay for a single lesson sites.

I saw this posted on harp-l in November, but there wasn't even a single solitary response!

Ohhh, Ahhh, I haven't hardly looked at the sight and I'm already preparing to sign up. This could be just what I've been struggling to find. All of the instructional videos are taught by Howard? Only question I'm afraid I already know the answer to is whether or not I can store videos to watch later on, though I really doubt.

I bought Howard's new CDs recently, damn that's some good music. No fear, none of the 'world music quacking' to be found :) .

This method of video exchange instruction
is cool and well worth $20 a month.

I have some experience with this & can say
that the 'ArtistsWorks' folks are pros.

Leonid - is it Howard teaching the advanced tongue blocking? I just saw the one sample tongue blocking video, and was concerned that this wouldn't get much coverage.

It's certainly a remarkable website and I wish Howard well. If it succeeds--and it's hard to imagine that it won't--then Howard is in trouble, and I'm not joking. The mode of interaction that he proposes, responding personally to videos, is very time-intensive and focus-intensive. Teaching is a noble pursuit, but it can also be draining, especially to intensely creative people who require some alone-time. I think Howard may, just may, for the first time, discover that he has bitten off more than he can chew.

But heck, what do I know? He's always been a brave pioneer; once again he has surprised.

Luckily, he's not offering lessons on the sort of blues classics I'm offering here. Not yet!

Adam I must say it seems like starting from your internet revolution of the harmonica, you have pushed the instrument into a golden era of opportunity! To learn at least... I have subscribed to that site and must say it's the real deal! Some players on there already are incredibly good! You are dead on about the videos thing though, I already see 6 up and the time with watching them (5min), thinking about a lesson then recording it (min 10 min) will be a problem if masses join and he is swamped. The list of lessons is impressive and it is just another opportunity to learn. Highly recommended!

Thanks for that review Michael, I'll have to check it out sometime... It's a pitty that you have to inscribe for 3 months at a time but then 60$ is really not that exaggerated of a price.

Been thinking about kudzurunner's concern for HL and I
think the classic business school reaction applies here:
If demand is too high, raise prices.

Yeah, yeah he'll take a beating on internet forums but
the real world might value him more. Just a thought.

I wouldn't worry about that. The main value is in lessons and not what HL would say. He obviosly will never have time to give detailed feedback to everyone. But the amount of material there is enormous and that is why I personally enrolled.
That advanced tongue blocking I mentioned already HL was doing at his consert in London 3 years ago. 3 years I tied to figure out how the hell he did that. And now he it is plain and simple. I would pay $60 just for this one lesson

I've recently studied some (high tech) marketing and I think rabbit has a point although it's not so simple.

At first it is important to gain market share as you enter. Later you will try to build something that makes it little bit hard for the customers to change provider - some advantages which you don't want to let go for example. The community in that site (like in this too) is something that actually will functions as such since you don't want to leave your peers. That demand for making a 3 month contract works well with that too, since you have time to get know people and to establish a network in the site.

The best customers are such that will buy everything but will utilize the resources as little as possible. In that site it would be those that will just watch the lessons but not post thier own videos for commenting. Perhaps in the future there will be other options to buy besides that (3)monthly subscription. For example in some point we might see that the subscription price would be higher for those who want to be able to get comments from Howard..

There are lots of things that can be introduced there in the case the member amount grow enormous so I'm not worried that Howard would be burdened under the work - it will just mean some modifications to the approach they will take. I'm sure the ArtistWorks people have already plans in place for all those cases. And if they don't, there are some free tips in this message.. :)
