Just learned that the core band I'm in will be opening for John Nemeth ( with special guest guitarist Kid Anderson ) in January.

We have bring all our own equipment, and this is a large hall.
So I'm debating...do I bring the Blackheart Handsome Devil that's voiced for greasy Chicago, but only 7 watts and mic it? Or drag the 125 watt Traynor YGL-III 2X12 that I've voiced more for jazz, but has brass ones that don't need PA?
Or do I bring both?

The band is a 6 piece, so there are plenty of others to consider.

Thanx, JS

Right now, I've decided to bring both. ( Insurance, just in case ).
I've modded the BH-15H with 12AY7's in both pre-amp sockets.
I'm trimming the Traynor beast with a 6211 in both V1 ( Arcturus L. G. P. , clean channel ) and V2 ( GE 5* tri-mica, effects/distorted channel ) for now..until I get some milspec 6829's in.

I'm real familiar with this venue.
I've heard Rod Piazza with his twin 6X10 HarpKings.
He has no problem being heard.
Ditto Mark Hummel, and I think he was using a SJr Cruncher at the time, with another type ( VOX? ) in reserve. The SJr Cruncher was fairly new at the time.
Saw Terry Evans at this venue about a year ago, and his git work was fantastic. The harp sounded thin...mostly thru the PA.

Still gonna mic the Handsome Devil. Sound guy can cut me off if it's loud!
