Hi All
Ive just got an Eb Marine band and one of the reed plate has been tuned really badly - I want to change them over for something better, usually i play golden melodys and suzuki blues masters and i was woundering do other manafactures reed plates fit the marine band? can i get suzuki's on there?

I think that most MB style harps fit. But, you have to drill new holes in the reed plates. Even MBDLXs and MBXOVRs (same plate) have their holes in the wrong place for an MB.

Don't quote me on this but I think a Hohner Special 20 would fit. As long as it's already out of tune you might want to use it to experiment with retuning.

llama, send that harp back to Hohner. They will either retune it for you, or give you a new one (for free).

The plates on the MB/Sp20/GM are essentially the same plates, tho the GM tuning is different. On the MB/Sp20, they're tuned to a comprimise tuning, wheras GM's are tuned to ET. Again, guys, check the list of diatonic harp tunings I have listed on either http://www.harmonicaspace.com or at http://www.deltafrost.com, and in the last one, you don't need to be a member, and so type in "Diatonic Harmonica Tunings - An Update" and they'll all be there. If you don't see a particular model listed, it's usually gonna be tuned to ET.

thanks for the replies, yes i might change for special 20 plates - anybody know if blues master plates will fit as i prefer these really?
I did e-mail hohner and they requested that i send it to Germany at my own cost - i thought for the hassle i might as well just change the plates

Suzuki products will not fit a Hohner at all.
