Check out this gem! Except for the relaxed fun and perfection in this bootlegged performance, you'd never know that these guys were the American answer to the Rolling Stones--much less the pop group who made it big with "Freeze Frame." These are guys you'd love to share a beer with. Actually, come to think of it, the Stones connection IS apparent:

December, 1982 I believe it was...

At that point in my life my introduction to music came mostly from two sources: my older brother and the radio. Bro didn't care for Geils, and the radio was enamored with their Freeze Frame/Centerfold style of music. I did know a few of their more classic tunes, but I had yet to explore the band on my own.

My girlfriend was a fan, based on their "pop" stuff, and had tickets to their concert. "Sure, I'll go..." thinking at worst a two hour investment might reap rewards a high school boy might appreciate.

Things I learned that night:
- Peter Wolf is an AMAZING entertainer, and impressed me to no end fronting that band;
- I knew more of their older stuff than I realized, and liked the band much more than I thought;
- The "pop" crap, which they mostly avoided, when presented in a gritty, live venue is tolerable, even mildy enjoyable.

When we left the concert, I was a fan, and she no longer was...

Sweet! I had heard Peter Wolf vowed to never play with them again. Guess that was pure B.S. Ever notice how Magic Dick had less and less of a role once they hit it really big?
