OK, here's my take at Adam's lesson. I had never heard this song until I got the lesson and since then it is one of my favorites, not only to play but to listen to.

It's not bad, but, in my view, you need to spend some time on your tone. That 2 draw is naked. To save me typing it all over again, read what I said to isaacullah in the fastish blues thread from the other day.

By the way, I don't quite get the signature. Still, this isn't a political forum, so I won't challenge it in the way I'm tempted to.

Mickil,

Thanks for the feedback. I need to hear things like that because nobody really hears me play. I do realize my tone is pretty weak. I'll listen to the song again for that.

As far as the my signature, well, maybe some other time over a beer I'd be happy to discuss and defend my political views. I do try to change my signature from time to time so maybe the next one won't be so...controversal?

jay,

About the tone. I spend almost as much time practicing - or, just noodling, really - with throat vibrato, on the blow notes as well as the draw, as I do on piecing together riffs and tunes. When I don't feel like practicing, I'll just mindlessly work on the 2 draw vibrato while gazing at the TV.

When you listen to Doc Gussow or any of the tasty players, they never, or rarely, leave the tone 'dead' when a note is held for any length of time. It's what sets them apart from most of us. Put them through the Amazing Slowdowner and you'll hear it more clearly.

Hope to hear you in HPC3.
