Damn. He's not just the best player, his videos are impossible not to watch. Here's a subtlety: notice the volume of the harp stuff in the background vs. the voiceover.

Also listen to that third-position stuff in the middle section of the video. Dang.

It's a great site. His equal tuning harmonicas sound a little awkward when he plays the blues but his lessons are very comprehensive. He says if you follow all his lessons all the way through you'll be able to play anything you want on the harmonica :) Who's all signed up?

$60 for 3months is a good deal.

Wow! I really didn't expect to like this stuff this much. It might just be a good deal--just listening to the little jam at the end of this one is really cool--I don't think I've ever heard Levey do anything that bluesey before. . .

This sounds good. I am interested but would like to hear some user feedback before making any commitment.

Have signed up - the videos are excellent and there are lots of them. Howard seems to be having a lot of fun doing it, and his musicianship is revelatory, not just the harp. Howard responds on video in a day or two (at the moment). I had no trouble PayPalling it: sometimes the server seems slow (in UK). $20 a month is about what you'd pay for a quality newspaper; even if you don't like Howard's playing, it's worth it for the incidental musical theory relating to the harp. And he's FUNNY.

Terrific, but too rich for me right now.
