I usually don't spam the list when I post on my blog, but Greg's work has come up a few times lately, and I thought some might like to check out my comments on the Ultimate 57. I posted pics comparing the mic to a typical SM57, a SM57 with one of Greg's snap on volume controls, and finally with a Samson Wireless.

If anyone has advice on how to bump the signal (really just the highs) of a Samson Wireless up so they are the same as a cable, I'd love to hear from you!

I get the same volume with it, but I lose some punch. Since the Double Trouble has only the high-cutting tone control, I can't add them all back in.

What about an eq pedal between the receiver and the amp?

Like I mentioned in another thread, wireless transmissions involves compression of the dynamic range at the mic end and re-expansion at the receiver (compansion). It's to limit the introduction of extra noise into the signal, but inevitably (with lower end systems) it'll involve signal loss at the extremities of the range. Bear in mind the latest top end Trantec digital system costs £6000! That's the price bracket where you expect stuff to be transparent.
