Jean DAGBA rocking it african style:

(central african sound quality is notoriously bad, so you'll have to ignore that...)

I can't even really hear what he is doing under all the sound issues. Why does he have a chromatic in a holder when he has free hands?

sounds like the same beginner crap you can find anywhere else in the world.

nacoran, yeah, thats the african sound quality... I don't know why he has the holder when he doesn't need it? maybe to dance and have a beat or for the victory sign at the end. Obviously it doesn't hinder him from rocking.

Buddha, nice to have you back. I see you didn't lose your charm. ;)

The reason that I like the vid and his music is not that he plays advanced or beginnier crap or whatever. I just like the 'african traditional' music (in spite of all the distortion). To me it sounds very much like these steel drums which have that tpyical traditional groove. The rhythm and accentuation is also very 'african'.

I also thought it was a beautiful image (whatever it's worth). After all these years that the harp was used to sing out the sorrow of the black man. Here was one, back home, playing a happy folk tune.

The best would be to have him play at Klingenthal or Trossingen. It's then that the harmonica would have completed the full circle.

But mostly, I just like his music...

Sorry, but that just sounds like crap to my ears. Doesn't matter if he's black, white or purple, or trying to be happy or sad, it just lacks in quality, IMO.

Aarrggh, ignorance... ! Just kidding.

However, I still believe that it has some quality that goes beyond beginner noodling. Also if it may be hard to hear through all the distortion.
