Just a quickie. Does anyone have this problem...?
When I draw bend the 6 hole on a C harp, it hurts. If I stop the bend half way, it actually vibrates in my head and causes a very unpleasant pain. Luckily I can now do a full bend so it almost solves the problem. This only happens on a C harp. I read that Quincy Jones had to stop playing certain brass instruments because of a similar problem. I´m really curious. about this.
Any ideas info or ideas? (apart from sticking to my Bb harp I mean ;)
Thanks again guys and gals!

Not only not a problem, 6-hole draw bend (on a G) was the first bend I ever did, so it has a special place in my heart.

Is it like 'brain freeze' that you get when eating ice cream? if so maybe you should talk to a dentist - sensitive teeth resonating to the frequency of the harp??? dunno! just a wild guess.

No pain here, but I can feel a vibration inside my mouth on most bends. I can move the vibration around, which changes the pitch. I use it to tell if I'm bending properly.

It could be a hole in my tooth - I´m due a dental visit;( It´s similar to "freeze head" with ice cream but actually it feels like my skull is vibrating. I know it´s strange. As a rock guitarist I´ve suffered all kinds of unpleasant noises with amps etc but never like this. It comes from inside, so it could well be a tooth problem - thanks for the suggestion, I´ll check it out with my dentist and let you know!

I know what you mean. I get it on bends on my F harp and a little on my E. Its so annoying that I wont play my F. It's not a tooth thing,(I just went to the dentist and got a clean bill of health including x-rays) its more in the sinuses. It like everything behind your nose and eyes vibrates like a tuning fork.
