I read Adam's post on micing amps, and he put a bug in my ear when he stated he had found the holey grail of mic's for his Amp. I looked on the M/F web page and found they were $200, a little more than I wanted to spend. When I got with the band to practice I ask the Guitar/ sound man to try one of the drummers kit mic's on my harp Amp. We had been using a Shure SM57. We hooked up a Morley A/B pedal to the Peavey mic and the Shure for a head to head test. We were blown away with how much fuller the Peavey sounded, tone, emminance preasence was night and day better. We tried another drum mic but I can't remember the name, it was better than the SM57 but not as good as the Peavey. The good news is the Peavey cost way less. We found one on Ebay for $45. I gigged out with this set up this past Friday and was very pleased, every member of the band commented on how much better the harp cut thru the mix and the tone quality. I can't find just this mic on M/F web page, it's only in the drum mic set.I googled it and new it's $80. If you get a chance to try one I don't think you will be sorry. Thanks' Adam for sparking my intrest in another mic for the Amp. I think I found another treasure. Mike

Just out of curiosity, did you try to use it as your harp mic, and not just to mic your amp's speaker? ---------- ~Todd L. Greene, Devout Pedestrian

Todd, I never even thought of trying it on the harp. I had tunnel vision micing the Amp. I may try it just for grins. Mike

Let me know. I have a friend who only ever used a 57 to mic his amp until I suggested he play thru it-and he loves it now! ---------- ~Todd L. Greene, Devout Pedestrian
