Snow is beautiful. It looks so clean and bright and It makes you want to go out in and enjoy it. Thats when you find out it is cold and wet and people can't drive in it. Your car gets stuck and as Jon has discovered you have to shovel it and It is NOT light and fluffy as it looks. I say we keep snow where it belongs .... in Canada, on mountain tops and on calenders.

At least when it's snowing, cold, and dry... you don't get rashes in funny places because it's too easy to get hot and sticky.

The grass is always greener on the other side. I love and hate being here.

Have a great holiday guys!

Snow is the devil!

Okay, it's not terrible if it's on a day I'm not supposed to be somewhere (or have somewhere I really want to go) and drive in it or if I have to drive to the Pocono's to get to it but N.I.M.B.Y., lol!

Though, I wonder how I'd feel about the snow if it snowed in 70 degree weather. I hate the cold, under 40 is so unnecessary, I.M.O.!

What's snow? Oh, I think i've seen it on t.v. when the cables' out. Never mind-I'm with ya. j/k...We get it once in a blue moon down here, and never enough to hate it. It's a treat! But, yeah, if I had to deal with it everyday, it would lose its appeal. I did live in Alaska for a few months and saw it every day, but I still didn't hate it, although shoveling it does suck a big one. Nice, Jason! The only thing I can attribute to Jimmy Buffet is nausea and a distaste for Hawaiian shirts and flip-flops.

Yeah I remember it Buzadero, it's fun when we do get it, because we don't have to deal with it all the time! The opposite could be said for the oppresive summer heat and humidity down here-it sucks.

Yeah, humid cold down here in the south cuts right thru ya. Humid cold is just as oppressive as humid heat!
BTW, it's a sunny 60 degrees here right now...if I didn't have to be on my best behavior for a charity gig this evening, I'd opt for some cold beer at The Bulldog on the patio about now!

Then I moved to Central Coast California! One of the few true Mediterranean climates in the world.

Snow is great three times a year. The first snow that covers the ground looks so nice. Snow on the ground on Christmas rocks. Then, in the spring, when there is 3 feet of it on the ground but it's 45 degrees out and it's great for throwing snowballs at people who aren't wearing jackets...

The rest of the winter it's just there to make you appreciate summer.

It is not so much the snow I hate... It is the environment it fosters upon arrival. LOL! Being cold sucks. One way I avoid constant depression through the 200+ days of rain and grayness we get each year is to remember that it could be snowing instead.

People who think snow is beautiful have obviously never seen what snow looks like after it's been on the ground for a couple of days, it's disgusting. All the exhaust from cars, and other crap, turns the snow all black and brown, and everywhere you look there's nasty dirty snow and slush that you have to walk through. Speaking of walking through snow, I absolutely hate that crunching sound it makes when you step on it, every step I have to take through snow makes me cringe. Oh yeah, I also hate having to get up at 5:30 in the morning and go outside half asleep to discover that it's 15-20 degrees below zero and my entire car is covered with a thick layer of snow and ice that needs to be scraped off while I'm freezing my ass off and in real danger of getting frost bite. Now that's some serious BS. I hate winter.

I like snow. I live halfway down a long hill. My bus route is always the first one to get cancelled in bad weather and the council saves money by not gritting the road. That's the only excuse I need to get a day off work, building snowmen with my kids.

Season's Greetings everyone!!!

What's snow?

Seriously, right here and now it's stinking hot, humidity 100%, thunderstorms every afternoon. We have had 3 inches of torrential downpours in less than an hour each afternoon for the last 3 days.

I used to love snow. But it never snowed anywhere I have lived. When I lived in Melbourne I used to go to the Snowy Mountains skiing each winter weekend. Under other circumstances I can understand that snow must be difficult to live with. Now I just hate the cold which we sometimes get for a week or so mid year ie daytime temps of 20c & mins of 10c -brrrrrrrrr!

Everyone have a lovely White Christmas. Will be thinking of you whilst lazing in the pool after Christmas lunch. Santa doesn't use a sleigh here ie he does his deliveries in a Kenworth!

Anyone who is in a climate where they have to ask the question... What's snow? is not living life to the fullest until they have to shovel, slip, salt, sweep, scrape, lift, throw, push, pull, curse and seek chiropractors and pain medication even before getting out of their driveway in the morning just to be travelling the extra few hours to get to their place of work.

Then when you get home at night doing it all again to move the damn pile of slop from the end of your driveway that the snow plowleft behind so you don't have to pay $500 to rehang you new exhaust system that you just f-in' dragged off because you were so pissed off trying to get home that you had no energy left to move the freekin' pile and attempted to plow over it with the car.

Anyhow... That's Snow. You really need to experience the beauty of it all.

I grew up in NJ with snow, then through music spent the last 35 years living from the heat of texas, to the ideal climate of California, and now Ohio. I have to say it takes some preparation compared to warm weather, but I like it. I recorded this video in the snow today with my tennis shoes (listen to the song) and dogs. The soundtrack is solo unamplified harp. Walter "let it snow" Tore

It ain't the snow that bothers me--it's the cold and wet and slick and icy and slushy part that really sucks. It's the one time of year when I can miss Florida--and I really didn't like Florida when I was there. . .

Thanks. Someone said Chicago. I'll fine tune the map.

So, I like snow and early dark a lot less than I did just a couple short days ago. Christmas eve I got up to my mother's house and a couple hours later we got a call from my brother. He'd just hit a deer. Santa and my brother were both OK.

My brother was only a few miles away so I went and picked him up and he got his car towed to the garage. It's 13 years old so the insurance company may just total it. So we all spent the night at my mom's for X-mas. X-mas day evening we were just getting set for bed and there was a knock on the door. Some guy's truck had run out of gas while he was going out to pull his girlfriends car out of a ditch. At my house I would have let him in since it was howling out, but my mom was a little worried about a stranger at the door out in the boonies. I asked my mom if she had any gas, but she didn't so we sent him down to the farm next door. Apparently they were able to help him. At that time of night no station within 20 miles would be open.

So today, we loaded up my car. I was going to drop my brother off at his place and go home. Tomorrow I was going to go pick him up for work. The problem is, we'd been getting freezing rain for two days and my car is 22 years old. It doesn't like the rain, so, just as we were about to head out I tried turning it over, and it wouldn't start. I should have thought of it yesterday and started it up to dry it out a bit. Then I should have called AAA, but no, I thought I could pop-start it. My brother and I pushed it out of the driveway and onto the road. I climbed in and coasted towards the bottom of the hill. Unfortunately, on a hill, you only have one chance to pop-start a car and my timing was off. An hour later I was being towed backwards back to my mom's house. I thanked the neighbors. I will never let anyone tow me backwards again. By now it was dark and foggy. It's still above freezing. My mom is going to have to drive in (about 40 minutes) to take my brother to work. My car will get towed tomorrow, although except for the fact that I drained the battery trying to get it started and keeping the lights on on the side of the road to warn traffic, it will probably start once we have a couple dry days. I'm still waiting for my mom to call to say she made it home safely.

Has anyone ever thought about starting a harmonica commune, maybe somewhere tropical?
