This is just me thinking out loud,Im getting my christmas Gift today at the music store a new harp.I have 3 choices thats avaible lee oskars honers MB sp.20,I dont want the sp.20 i know only because ive heard nice harp dont last as long,The MB i kinda want one but this harp might be my carry around harp so ill play it alot, wood swelling, dont like the nails in them,Would like a more traditional blues which it is just tuning.Dont know how long it might last,Lee oskar this is the harp i have mainly in decent harps i have 4- 3 different keys i love lee;s cause there tuff in my opion i had a seydel that lasted lesss than a month with a new set of reed plates thats equal to 2 sydels, ouch but im tuff on a harp to much air i know im working on that but the lee's been holding up well, but that equal tuning is about all i have in harps and although i play a lot of single note playing i kinda want a traditional sound cause im thinking about it being a bflat harp the seydels were bflats i love that key its going to be my carry around harp probelly i would like it in bflat plus adams stuff uses alot of bflats i dont have a bflat.my other option is to get a G lee oskar cause i have a C D A in the Lee's and a G would give me 4 lee;s there only keys i need for jamming with the bands around here. Its been driving me crazy i dont know which way i will go

Have a good time Hobo!
I like all of your options! Do you have have any MBs? If not, I would recommend trying one. My first harp was a LO, nice harp, a little leaky. I now play MBs, SP20s, and Seydel 1847s. Enjoy whichever one you get, let use have a sample when you get it.

We got a Hobo doin' work!

Hobo,

I don't know where you heard that SP20s don't last, but, you'll hear bad stuff about any harp if you read enough forum posts. My A has been taking a pounding since before the Summer, and it's fine. Replacement reed plates aren't expensive either. My advice would be to try one at some point. Anyway, happy shopping.

Same here. I love the Special 20's. They are closer to just intonation than many, they are very tight and have such a high playability right out of the box. I have blown some reeds, but that was probably from playing them way to hard.

I've been working on bending and all that with less pressure, haven't broken a reed, and the little buggers still sound like their throwing a fit!

None of those harps are tuned to Just Intonation. The Hohners you mentioned are all tuned to a compromised tuning. The Lee Oskars are equal tuned.

Compromised is closer to JI, but if you really want JI tuning then the only harmonicas I know of tuned to it are the Hering 1923 models. Other than that it's either play compromised tuning or tune it yourself.

Personally I'd go for the Marine Band.

well i got an Bflat lee oskar and so far i love it.I guess Lees are my prefeared harp i have 5 now the only good harps i have that have not busted. My 1st harp that i got a year ago when i decided to try and learn how to play was a lee the store clerk handed it to me i asked for a A key harp thinking hohner and he hands me a Lee,plus i bought the last 25th aneversery lee harp from musicians friend it was the last i got it at half price.I went into the store today i pretty much wanted the lee in bflat,They didnt have a MB in Bflat i thought about the sp20 in bflat but i love the durabilty of lees and i have no problems with them playing nice and it was the last bflat Ok the Seydel i once had was smoother but it felt like i could ripe it apart and did 2 weeks later, the lees are like a Jeep they get the job done in ruff territory and if you ever hear me play you know it can be ruff lol.I guess destiney decides what harp a person plays
