Finally arrived just before xmas for me!

First impressions:

Suzuki Bluesmaster: just plain awesome, great ootb, especially to someone whos only been playing only Hohners so far. Bends are all smooth and easy, mind you I did do some very mild gapping, but it barely needed it. I mainly wanted to fix the 6 OB. Very impressive overall however, Might have to get me some more keys.

Suzuki Promaster: Again, suzuki lives up to its reputation for being great ootb, but I really expected more from the promaster. its got a nice weight to it and looks fantastic but the playability seems average to me. Nice Brassy tone but I prefer the Bluesmaster. Also there's a small buzz on the 4 or 5 hole, Also! i went to do some light customizing and couldn't get the cover plate off, one screw came out fine but the other was really tight so i ended up grinding the screw head down by accident with the screwdriver, rendering it useless. not very happy.

Suzuki Scx 56: My first chromatic - beautiful sound and feel. I'm really excited to get into chromatic playing especially with the scx 56 at my disposal. Just 2 negatives about it. 1) ive heard that the windsavers buzz, especially if not warmed up properly and yes, they did, even after being warmed up. 2) the 11 and 12 holes barley sounded at all, draw and blow so obviously I have to open the reeds a bit, but i need a little more confidence in working with it first.

ah righto, i thought that might be the case, but I hear that lots of people prefer the hammond over the promaster anyway. Seems like it has a nicer tone

i am interested in the scx models. i currently play hering 48's. availability may become more of an issue with herings as time goes on so i got a look at brendan power's videos on the scx.

re: windsavers, this happens with a lot of chromatics. it's simple, you learn to keep going esp out live. it has never caused an audience member to comment on the buzz, it really isn't that loud.

i had a promaster in B for a long time and never got to play it much. gave it to a friend who needed a B. i recently got a bluesmaster and while the harp was great, i ended up swapping the cover plates out with delta frost plates and it's one of my hard-working harps now! i also got a suzuki Pure harp a couple months ago, noyt great for full out electric high volume, but wonderful for the acoustic duo stuff i do! and really such a beauty of a harp. i also am hooked on the manji model. i have 2 so far and no disappointments at all out of them.

Ohk thats cool, I figured the buzzing wasn't a huge problem but just wondered if it were supposed to happen. I'm more concerned about the higher notes not sounding. Did this ever happen to you Jbone?

Many people seem to love the manji, I mite get one just to try it out, but alas, there are so many other harps i want to get 'one' of to try out.
