I tried it. I thought it was too BRIGHT sounding for my taste, so I sent it back. I'm currently using an MXR Carbon Copy Delay which is unquestionably dark sounding. But YMMV. The BBE is a very nice piece of gear, though.

Another nice delay pedal is the Wampler Analog Echo which is a reasonably priced boutique guitar pedal available on the Wampler Pedals site. Very transparent and has a tone control. Not as bright as the BBE, but it does not darken or thicken the tone at all, so it certainly sounds brighter than the MXR which sort of compresses the highs a little.

All 3 are harp friendly and are supposed to be true bypass. Only the BBE has 2 independent delay settings, though.
