Scojo, a good place to start is Bostonblues.com the website for the
blues society, it has a section for local jams.
Also check out www.openmics.org, punch in the city and state and it gives you a current list with comments from jammers.

I just moved to Boston-- haven't checked this out yet but I've walked by a couple times:

http://www.johnnyds.com/music-calendar/

They have an open blues jam every sunday from 4-7.

Ridge frequents the Johnny D's jam. I just texted him to reply here. Smoken Joes in Brighton says they have open mic this Monday. It's a blues club so I hope it's a bluesy thing. I don't know though. I work in Cambridge. Might be able to come out for something this week. I'm trying to get out more in Boston.

Johnny D's in Somerville, MA is right off the Red Line (David Square stop) so it's only one or two stops from Cambridge if you take the T. It's a nice place to go. You will definitely get a chance to play.

Cantab Lounge in Central Square (Cambridge) runs from like 9pm-1am on Sunday though it doesn't really open for jammers until around 10pm. This is also off the Red Line. Probably won't catch the train back if you stay until closing time.

Wally's is on Monday and I've only been a few times. It's out closer to Berklee college. It's a unique little place and I do mean little. You'll be ass to crotch with everyone in there. That being said, check it out if you're able to.

I can try to make it out to Johnny D's. Usually it wouldn't be a problem, but I'm supposed to be getting my lady from the airport around the same time.

I've always been confident in my musical abilities....however, I spent a week in Boston years ago working the IAJE Convention. When I stepped out for a blues jam session, the talent there was much higher than I was used to...felt a bit intimidated (new feeling for me).

If you want to hear some harmonica, my band Session Americana is playing at Toad tonight(sunday) in Porter Sq. Cambridge, which is one stop over on the T from Davis Sq. where Johnny D's has their Sunday blues jam. We start at 9pm, and play a couple of sets, but it is going to be crowded. We are part of a Toad turns twenty celebration for this great little club where there is never a cover! Some on down.
