Check this video out from this Russian fellow i believe http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5b-DuAOKGMw
He suggests using a small glass ball (marble etc) to emboss your reeds. I'd never thought of trying that, but i'm going to ASAP if i can find a marble around town.
Anyone out there tried this??? Sounds like a good idea to me. I've been using the Ball end of a tuning fork, the back end of a screwdriver, stuff like that so far.
Seems like it's worth a try. Like he said; you are sure less likely to accidentally scrape and damage the reed with "glass"
Any suggestions, comments? Thanks. happy new years! ---------- $Daddy Rich$ "The Blues is Ok!"

In my infant experience, I've used triple A batteries with decent results...

My friend who builds harps for a few players of note(and me!) uses one tine of a tuning fork;the ball end. I've done it with a long socket. It seems to me you wouldn't have as much control having to roll something, either a marble or ball bearing, nor would you be able to get as close to the rivet. ---------- ~Todd L. That's what i've been using up to this point (back end of a tuning fork) Works ok, but i think i'm gonna try the marble thing as well. I see what you are saying though, guess i'll just find out soon..
