Some time soon I'm ordering a Shure 520 with a black CR from Chuck Gurney, and am umming and ahing about a custom paint job. Do you think I should? And if so what? Something eye catching and snazzy? Any help appreciated
Cheers, Jack

It's difficult for me to imagine why the color of mic would matter one way or the other. . .

Hell yeah, go for it. Personally I'd avoid flames, unless they're realistic ones(overdone)...I've seen some really nice paint jobs on mics online. Put your initials on it, or some lightning.

Looks! Appearance! Fun maybe?
Beautiful things are nice, and I'm not skimping on quality so it's not looks over performance, it will sound great.

if it doesnt have a volume control on the back end, an eyeball, since most of us play with our eyes closed.

@nacoran, you know I tried to no avail to find a pic of one painted fleshtone with a pink volume knob on the end...hmmm...I have a bullet begging to be modded and painted that just so happens to need a volume knob added.

Which shell would look better for my tata mic, a 520 or a JT? I have both, from a 520d shure and a CAD hm50(which is actually turquoise and chrome, not black and gold like most)? Both need to be reworked, so the sky's the limit.

That would be pretty cool. A beautiful woman saying that might work too.

Think about branding yourself.

All of my music gear is purple. I'll post a pic of my cool purple re-10 when I get it back.
