Anyone do this? I've seen it done, so thought I would try it with my wuppass Traynor. Won't bore everyone with all the specs, but sufficient that I already had a decent voicing.
I was surprised how much this opened up the bass response. Previously, bass was warmly distorted, but fell off as compared to the mids and hi's. This was like adding presence to the bass. Only thing, now the Master Volume was super sensitive @ 1-2. I dimed the #2 Vol, B-6, M-8, T-2.5. #1 Vol-5, B-7.5, M+T -0.
Now, I wanted to utilize the tremolo. The circuit could only be used with a footswitch. Sure, I could go out and buy a simple pedal, but I'm cheap, inventive, and have time on my hands. The amp was designed with two jacks in the back: one for tremolo, the other for reverb; to use a pedal. Somehow, reverb works WITHOUT having to use pedal. SO, I unscrewed the reverb jack, taped it up and left intact inside the chassis. Then, I soldered up a plain phono jack ( in effect, making it a plug switch ) and put that in the former reverb jack pos. Got a short patch cable and fired up Carmen. Completed the loop with both plugged in. Not only did the tremolo work great, but it also tamed some of the gaininess in the MV!
Something else I did was to go over the entire PTP circuitry and resolder every connection I could get to with minimal difficulty. Some of the stuff that I knew worked well ( i.e. on/off switch ) I skipped. This took four hours, so not as time consuming as one might expect...and this is a BIG amp. Mostly, it was remelting... making sure connections were secure; but sometimes I added some new solder. Also found some dangerously close pins.
I must say that this had a remarkable effect on the "chiminess" of the amp. I had thought that the speakers might be older and flabby. NOT SO! It was the tired joints!
I also worked on the cosmetics of the amp, but that's another subject!

I didn't do it like you did but my old Lafayette harp amp. has a clean and a modified channel for harp. I simply used a Y connector, 2 male 1/4 to one female 1/4 and use both channels at the same time. It really opened up the tone. I get the dirty grit of the harp side and blend the clean side to round out the sound. The tremelo is on the clean side and it has a seperat tone adjustment also. After that discovery we started micing the amp with a Peavey 325 drum mic and really saw more improvment. As far as I'm concerned your on the right track, I know what potential lies in a 2 channel set up. I used to run 2 amps on a Morley pedal and link the two together, clean and dirty. One amp is a lot easier to carry around and gig with. Mike
