I saw him play live at one of his Jam Camps and he was amazing he plays with the likes of Jimi Lee and Cheryl Arena and Adam G. His lyrics contain wonderful imagery and tell great stories. You really should check him out.

I just finished downloading it. It is VERY good, and well worth the $9 he's asking for it. The songs are very early Tom Waits'ish, and the harp playing is just wonderful. The only song I'm not gaga over is "School", but all the other's are just great! John has made a really great album.

I'm a bigger fan since I've started fooling around with a rack and I saw this.

There was another thread about no one playing on a rack well. Well, here it is.

I guess I did forget to mention his harmonica playing. Thanks Isaac.

@scotB--this is OT--but what the hell--

Richard Sleigh is another great Harp on a stick guy--and he has some tutorials on the subject.

I personally believe there are a lot of good rack players--I am striving to be one--but I find it difficult and challenging. . .

I'm a big Gindick fan. Been to one of his jam camps, lots of fun and great instruction. He's a fun guy who keeps things loose, loves to play and teach.

Insightful story : Jon taught and played all day at his camp. After the days sessions were over, me and a few fellow attendees cleaned up and headed out of the hotel to grab some dinner. As I passed by the banquet room where the sessions were taking place, there was Jon all by himself playing music out of one of his own harmonica instruction books. He really loves this stuff and works hard at it. That episode really motivated me to take advantage of the time I have to play and practice.
