Or are you like me, got a completely empty head and just hoping and praying that something sparks some devine inspiration just in time to hit the deadline?

After trying to keep the motivation going for so long, I feel as guilty as heck. There's nothin there at the moment.

I've been playing actively, except for the last week I've been sick...hoping to get back at it, as I just had both my 520D and HM50 mics repaired, and I obtained some more custom MBs. As for what I'll play, I've got some ideas. Looking forward to it!

Not to be a spoiler, but who's playing acoustic? How about amped?

It's going OK. I've been noodling with a few things. I'll see what feels best nearer the time.

tooka, what are you working on? Or is it a secret weapon?

EDIT: Accoustic, Todd.

Just sit in front of the camera now and then with it rolling. Maybe you'll get lucky with something you like. I hope you can think of something you wanna do. Perhaps a modest amount of booze will help to generate something for the camera. Good luck, anyway.

I have been coming up with something new every week since HPC3 was announced. Everytime I work something out to the point where I think I am going to roll with it, I just get sidetracked on something else! At one point real soon, I am just going to start filming a bunch of stuff, and just pick what I think sounds the best.

I had plans for going electric, but about 95% of my practices lately have been acoustic, so who knows? I'd like to get some foot stompin' in though!

Been practicing like always. I.e. not a specific piece. I'll just start recording stuff soon and post something as soon as it's good enough. I hope already before the deadline (although I'm pretty bad when it comes to stuff like that) so that I can get some feedback beforehand and maybe work on it some more... (and upload a better version).

I might do "Work'n" by Lee Sankey. Just started...(ehm) work'n on it yesterday. We'll see, either that or I might just improvise. Either way I probably won't be posting till the last minute.

I've been working on a few of Adam's lessons since last fall and have them at presentation quality now. There's one jam from one of his YTs (I'll keep you in suspense for now), that I've been playing and improvising on for a while, so I think I'll go with that. I'll try it both amped and not and see which I like best. I don't think anybody said we have to do a completely original composition.

@Tooka, Go a little easy on yourself, if you are having trouble choosing, and just play something you are already familiar with and enjoy playing.

I think I know what I'll be playing. Found a cool groove on a long lost harmonica cd. I'm working it out now. As long as I find time to record it over the next couple weeks I'll be fine.

Oh I say Rick. You had me stumped there. I forgot. I had to go back into the archives to remind myself what it was.

Originally, when it all started, we had a little contest/challenge. One of the guys created the Harpfriends YouTube channel, and members of the forum were invited to join the channel and playalong to a backing track and put their videos up for inclusion. Just for the fun of it.

So originally it was called the Harpfriends Playalong Contest (HPC). HPC just stuck for the forum members who knew what it was.

I'm pleased you bought this up because I think we should review the title to be something more meaningful because this time we are not playing along to a backing track and on this occasion it doesn't make sense.

Thanks for bringing it up and sorry it isn't anything more exciting.

I'm gonna do one of Adam's lessons like mr. so&so. I really like the song anyway, makes it that much more enjoyable to learn and play.

....what the hell...my version is only 1:50 long. Gonna have to stretch it out a little I think.

I'll keep you posted.

Hi GH, just in case there is any confusion regarding the new group, would those who post to the old group still be OK? I'm concerned about causing confusion at this stage of the game.

Of course, people could still upload their videos to the Harpfriends channel. No problem.

The advantage of a group is, that we wouldn't have to give the Harpfriends password to everybody and that we could manage the members of the group individually.

I'll upload a little explanation of how to use the Group sometime today or tomorrow. Adding a video to the group is very easy... All you have to do is copy the video address, press the "submit a video" button and "add".

Personally I don't think that the transition from the Harpfriends channel to the Harpfriends group should cause too much confusion. Quite the contrary, I think it would make a lot of things a lot easier.

I'll post the how-to video and if you have any objections we could postpone the start of the group until after HPC3.

No I'm quite happy with what you are doing GH Thanks. It's just that some of our members may get confused if they are happy with using the original harpfriends as it stands and miss the new information. If they do post to the original Harpfriends I suppose it will be easy to transfer any videos to the new playlist on the new site.
