I spent some of my Xmas money on a Low D S20 to mess around with. Love the sound, but I just can't seem to get much of a bend out of the 1-hole, even after gapping it. Is this a problem with my technique, and I just need to keep working on it? Or is it it because it's a S20? Or is it common knowledge that sensible people just don't attempt 1-hole bends on a Low D?

The lower the key, the harder the draw bends get. Keep working at it, it is possible - you'll get there.

I've heard people saying they can bend really low harps, but they say it takes a lot of practice. I have the same problem on my LLF. I'm starting to get a little bit of a bend every now and then. Just don't go crazy using too much breath.

Stretch your jaw and tongue downwards to the max while increasing the suction a little (like with all the bends)... I've got a Low D Vintage Harp and it works fine without any work done to it.

Thanks, gentlemen. I'll keep plugging away at it.
