Trying to use the upper notes on the harp to get more variety.

So the blues 2nd Octave is 6 6ob 7 -7od -8 -9 9

Question is, apart from only getting the occasional 6ob the -7od seems to be out of the question at the moment so how can I make the best use of the upper octave by playing around those ob and od notes until I crack them?

Also how did the old masters use the upper notes because, as I understand it, these ob od notes haven't been used much until recent years.

Try the 5th pos blues scale: 5 6 -6 6ob -7 -8 8
I found it to really help me get my 6ob down pat,a nd it is very useful!
