The new Harpfriends group is now ready for use!
Go and check it out HERE ! :) And don't forget to JOIN!
Now you don't need to tediously log in and out anymore. You can comfortably add the videos from your own YT-channel. All you have to do is press 'submit a video' insert the video URL and 'post'.
IMO there are two basic features that should be pointed out:
1. The group serves as a platform to discuss the videos. There is a little button on the top right of the screen that lets you switch between the video and discussion view. You can 'reply' to any video! This avoids the comments getting lost in the depth of the channel as was the case before...
2. You can vote for the usefulness of a certain video (click the 'Discussion' link beneath the vid to vote). Then the links can be displayed in order of their usefulness. You can choose how the vids should be sorted at the top of the channel (as in 'Top Rated', 'Recent').
Go and have a look at the older harpfriends videos! And feel free to post a vid to share it with us harpfriends and the WWW. Cheers.

This seems like a really good idea! I checked it out briefly (and joined), but I'll need a bit more time to figure it out completely. it seems pretty straightforward, though, and if it works Like I think it does, it will be much more useful than the way we've been doing it! Thanks GH...

you gotta love somebody who goes the extra step like germanharpist. i wouldnt have a clue on how to do what he does with youtube. (this isnt an invitation to explain it, though!)

Isaac. No prob, I'll rewrite the how-to page sometime in the near future, and I'll make sure to include your facebook group.

maybe they heard me coming. I went to the site and clicked on "submit a video" but when I clicked on "post" nothing happens. The screen just stays there. I am not that proficient on the net stuff. Maybe I am doing something wrong? Walter

how many more of these frikkin online harp communities do I have to keep joining before I'll ever see the end of it!? As if my mind isn't stuffed up enough with all these harmonica things... Don't you understand my pain!? waltertore: It could be that the channel just accepts "pure" addresses. Sometimes youtube adds some stuff at the end of the address. I always clicked on the "share" button below the video and copied the address from there. Also, you got to be in the group and logged in to your YT-channel of course...
To all: I've tried to make the whole "pending approval" thing go away... I didn't succeed. Maybe someone of you can try (by logging in to Harpfriends and changing the setting to public). And accept the newcomers while you're at it... :)
