Anyone here have happy accidents...hidden discoveries?
What tubes / combinations do you like?
I popped a 12DW7 in the phase inverter slot ( V6 ) in Carmen, my 10-tube Traynor and it's almost Satori.
Tried it in the V2 of the 7W/15W Blackheart and was almost like a bad SS. WAY too much distortion.
I had not cared much for 12AU7's, but have used a GE 5814A that is super sweet...sounds more like a 12AY7 than an AU.
