I think Mickil AKA HarmonicaMick's Mum has locked him in the woodshed. Haven't heard much from him lately.

Morning, old bean. How nice to be thought of. Oops, it's afternoon!

I have been nipping in and out of the forum, but I do cool off of it a bit from time to time. I think most of us do.

I have been in the woodshed quite a lot, trying hard to reach the next level, banging myself over the head 'cos I can't make this or that particular sound. It's funny, when I came back to harp, I thought something like, 'How hard can it be?' 'Very' would seem to be the answer.

Actually, one thing I have been doing, off and on, is trying to find speech recognition software that will work with OpenOffice. I can type with all my fingers, but not very well on a netbook; it's too fiddly. Sometimes, that puts me off saying what I want to on here. It just takes up so much time. Smoke signals seem like they'd be quicker.

Any pointers would be much appreciated.

Hi Mick, nice to know you're still with us. Yes, I know only too well how hard the harp can be, I'm just praying for some divine intervention for my HPC3 entry.

Sorry, haven't been down the speech recognition route. I know my setup (Vista) does have the capabilities and I believe some Microsoft software installed somewhere but I haven't had either the need or desire to explore it.

Our lovely weather today is just right for me to get lost in the woodshed for a while (once I've finished the housework). Glad everything is OK with you.
