sunday arvo was fantastic a BBQ with the girls then Jam with my Bro's,,the girls singing there favorite tunes Fantastic,,Had a great day getting late time 2 go Home,,Crash out bigtime 4.00am get woken whats that sounds like bombs going of,,Bloody Kids letting there Bombs of a Bit early this morning,,go back to sleep Zzzzzzz,,Bang Bang Bang WTF geezus thats close,,run out the kitchen ?rk No the jam sheds on Fire Kar ?rkin boom!!! just intime to whatch the Back half of the shed get Blown to bits there goes the BBQ gas Bottle every thing went up the works,,Weeks pass waiting 4 insurence to come through,,Ring Ring Hi AMI insurence the Builders turn up on Monday,,so there listening to a Different radio station that i listen to a DJ comes on i hear this Blurting farting sound,,Hi!!! guys I just got me a Harmonica can't play it 4 shit,,then his co host says mate thats not a real instrument he jokingly says U better get a Kazzoo sounds the same,,Did I see red U betcha i Ring the Radio Station contact the DJ in question not 2 bag him out,,i did feel like it though,,he answers i said mate that Harmonica Ya got U want 2 Know How to play,,He says R U going 2 teach me 4 Free,,Yeh Mate he then tells me he's blind in 1 eye got no transport he has to catch a Bus 2 C me,,i live 40 minutes from him by car him 80 mins from me by Bus,,i say U get here Mate i'll get ya Home,,he kept comeing over every weekend for 12 months,,by no meens am i a Pro Player gave him everything i had 2 offer started with the 12 bar boogie,,got him playing along with my Bro's it was all fun got to know him & R still great friends,,he wanted to know more on how to beat box sorry Bro not my feild,,i handed him over 2 a Instuctor i know that don't beat box but was able to help him become a more advanced Player & helped him with his Beatboxing,,he's now a kick ass Harmonica Player & Harmonica Beatboxer getting his face all over the place,,we still get together for jams But i now give him a ride both ways thats what friends do,,& he's got a Great story to tell every 1 how this scary dude Rang him up 1 day at Newfm & offerd to teach him to play the Harmonica 4 Free,,well almost free i get some good Tickets now days 2 C most every top name band that comes to town and get to sit in members Bar at the major Footy games..not all those sponsors prize tickets go to the Lucky winner of a Radio compatition..Got 2 love Freebies

I have a story unfolding. My better half hates the harmonica. Doesn't mind if I play melodies, folk, traditional tunes but can't stand the blues. My blues playing is not so good but she even hates Little Walter! Reckons none of it makes sense. I practice on the front verandah trying to be as quiet as possible.
We have neighbours 3 women in their mid 20s who moved in ca 6 months ago. I'm nearly 70. A few weeks back my son who was visiting us for a few days met the 3 women on the beach. One of the girls commented to him that she really loved my harp playing. My comment to my son was Oh yeah I will just have to play a bit quieter. He said -no dad she was really serious.
Anyhow, the lass approached me last weekend, said she loved my harmonica playing and asked me if I would teach her. I told her I was not really qualified to teach but I had info on lots of resources incl instructional websites for her to join. Her first move on my advice is to purchase a C harp. I will help her as much as I can.
Hi Aussie-S thats fantastic mate,,my advise to all persons who ask me what to learn strait up i say Learn a 12-Bar Boogie 1st,,then tunes they are fimiliar with from child hood those songs we sang over & over at school,,when the saints go marching in will be most familiar,,Bro U can Play Harmonica U can teach,,ask her what song it is that you played she likes Teach her that tune,,1 great learning tool from down under is a CD called ( Blue Tongue Harmonica Talk ) she can Pop it on her mp3 Player listen to it at work the Beach even when a date gets Boring or driveing the car,,Go for it Bro you are now an Abassador for this wonderful Instrument,,it will evan Help your son out he starts thinking man Dad just pulled a sweet babe with the Harmonica i better get 1 real quick
G'day Nasty. Yep I have the Harmonica Talk CD by Doug Lyons. Got it in a Workshop about 3 years ago. Lots of promises made for follow ups with further workshops but nothing happened. Better resources now on the net. Doug charged $120 & had about 20 attendees for what was a 4 hour session.
But crikey if we could convince Adam to come across & run some workshops here wonder what the uptake would be? Up here harp players seem a rarity.
And for Little Joe Samson I will give him the same message that I saw on the wall of an outback pub "WE DON'T SERVE ANY WOMEN HERE" & below in very small print "bring your own!"
