Check these guys out, Brit blues at its best.

His harp playing's not much, but it works and they're are really polished.
Cheers to the doctor from harpsurgery.com for alerting me to these guys I'll definately be going to see them...

That's British Pop not British Blues.

In my opinion it's just a poor version of Blur or any of the 90's British Pop bands. Now if you want real British Blues then this is it:

Hokie Joint

Lee Sankey

Lyndon Anderson Band

I was referring to the genre Brit blues, like rock blues. Lee Sankey is a bluesman and a brilliant one at that, Lyndon Anderson is also a blues guy who is British, not rock blues.

I perfectly understand that you were referring to the genre, but the music you referred to is Brit Pop not Brit Blues.

You could class them as Brit Rock but even that is a stretch. Their style (at least on the strength of that video) is firmly entrenched in the pop genre.

I'm sorry Jflir1 but calling them Brit Blues is wrong. Now I'm not having a go at you. If it comes across like that I apologize as that's not my intention. I'm merely pointing out the error in your classification of this band.

This is British Rock Blues:

The Nimmo Brothers

Now this is Brit Pop:

Now you tell me which genre the video you posted falls into?

This track has more in common with Skiffle than the Stones or Aerosmith.

Admittedly it's less "pop" than the last one. But it still ain't Blues.

If you wish to believe they are Brit Blues then go ahead, but you are just fooling yourself.

They are nothing more than a Brit Pop band whose marketing team are using the moniker Blues/Rock/R&B becuase they think it sounds cooler than Pop.

One thing they need to do is, to NEVER allow the singer to use harmonica again UNTIL he LEARNS to play the bloody thing properly.

He is absolutely atrocious and it's guys like him that give harmonica players a bad name.

Kingley.....Never heard Lyndon Anderson....pretty hot. That is one thing this forum has done for me....Introduced me to some great music / bands that I would have never heard ! The Bass player isn't bad either LOL.

I know Lyndon, we have met a few times as we have some of the same friends..He's based in Newcastle. The bass player is his wife Christine.

They have a website and a couple of CD's out as well I think. L-A-B

Quite like the Lyndon Anderson stuff. Might have to check out the cd.
Similar to what Pharpo said, since checking out this site and starting on the harp journey, i've been listening to a lot of musicians that i usually wouldn't listen to.
For instance the other day, in the space of a few hours, i listened to Sonny boy Williamson, Seasick Steve, and Machinehead .... quite a diverse range of music there :o)
