This year at SPAH (2018) I had the pleasure of speaking with Mr. Alan from Golden Bird Harmonicas. As we spoke, he informed me about many of the successes of Golden Bird, but If you search for these harmonicas online, you will most likely be unable to find them because they are not widely available in the U.S...until now! I have a limited amount of Golden Bird harmonicas to jump start some circulation in the United States.
These harmonicas are extremely good for the current asking price, and even serious harmonica players should consider owning at least a few of them. They play well out of the box, are put together nicely, and have many great features that I will speak about in full over the next few days in product review videos. I will also be featuring these harmonicas on my Podcast, Harp House, and my YouTube channel. Links will be provided as soon as possible.
Edit: Video Review as Promised:
The first large shipment is expected to arrive sometime in late October or early November.
Cover Plates: Reinforced Stainless Steel
Reeds: Phosphor bronze

Golden Bird harmonicas are made by Qiling Musical Instrument Company, while East Top is a brand of Jiangsu East Musical Instrument.
Both companies are located in the Jiangsu region but in different cities. Both were vendors separately at the SPAH 2017 and 2018 convention. Their products are very different. =========== Winslow
These harmonicas are made by Qiling Musical Instrument Company. They are a different brand and a different company. Both companies make different, but quality, instruments. ---------- Connor J. Frontera cfrontera@live.com

Sung-Hua (Alan) is a super nice fellow to work with, and his harps have been a hit the last couple years at SPAH. Golden Bird has been in business since 1978 and used to manufacture harps for Huang. According to Sung-Hua, they once made the Silvertone and Star Performer, however, the Huangs are now made by another manufacturer in China. They also made a line of harmonicas for Guitar Center under the brand name, Silver Creek, but the actual Golden Bird harps play better than the Silver Creek versions. Sung-Hua is inviting me to China later this year to play at the Cantone Harmonica Festival. I was hoping to get to tour the factory while there, but the festival is happening a few hours away from Golden Bird's factory.

I actually saw the Silver Creek harmonicas in Guitar Center the other day. I wasn't aware that they were in the family.
I hope you enjoy China this year. I was speaking with Alan about a possible trip next year for the same reason so hopefully we all get to have a good time come next December. ---------- Connor J. Frontera cfrontera@live.com
I didn't think this Forum was a vendor site to solicit business. It's great to know about low priced and new products but there's a difference between the latest harp player's didcovery and the latest sales pitch. ---------- BnT
I am aware of what the site is for, but these are harmonicas that have been asked about for about 2 years now. They haven't been available till now so I'm just throwing out as much information as I can. This information was given directly to me from the manufacturer.
Don't come over here trying to police the forums like you have some kind of authority. You're the only one who seems to have a problem.
Edit: Edited the original post just for you =) ---------- Connor J. Frontera cfrontera@live.com

Theres some good competition going on here though. I seem to like the Golden Birds a lot more than the Harp Masters and the Special 20s, but I do think the Rocket (which is basically a Sp20 also) is better.
Special 20s are going for about $40 right now outside of the key of C on Ebay and Amazon, but the prices of the other keys fluctuate.
Harmonicas are always being improved, so i expect the competition to be kept up between all of the companies. Hohner had a lot of shaping up to do over the past few years, and I will defend them by saying that the Marine Bands I play now and MUCH better than they were 8 years ago when I got my first set. I expect the same to happen with Seydel, Suzuki, Easttop, Golden Bird and whoever else makes harmonicas. ---------- Connor J. Frontera cfrontera@live.com

Conflictz, All keys of the special 20 are available on harmonicaland.com for39.90. That’s where I currently get mine if I’m buying a stock instrument. I have no problem with you promoting your brand. As always, the consumer will drive the market......
Just to clarify the rule... if a new product is launched it's fine to make a one time post on the forum. It's also alright answer questions about a product on threads where it comes up. Additional for sale type posts can be posted on the for sale thread or the for sale sub-forum.
Also, if you post a review and you have a financial tie to the product we ask you to disclose it.
Thank for clearing that up for us here. I will keep everyone updated on whats new with Golden Bird in the Future. ---------- Connor J. Frontera cfrontera@live.com
