I really hate losing a harmonica. It's probably not rational, but the lost harp always seems to become the one I can't live without. I turned the house upside down, and went through every case, nook and cranny looking for my Seydel Low A awhile back. I had not thought about it in months, but it became THE HARP I had to find. I finally found it in my sock drawer. Glad you found your Chrome.

William Galison left his chromatic harmonica on the PA speaker on the main stage at SPAH '98. Very semi-traumatic for him.
Unluckily for him, I found it and spent a few days pretending (anonymously) that I was a kidnapper and had his chromatic tied up in a secure location unless he paid the ransom.
Luckily for me, he had a good sense of humor and joined the fun, pleading with me to keep it fed with tiny bits of chewed up food.
Of course, after a day or two of banter, I sent it to him in NYC and the pair were happily reunited...
Upon my return from the NC Harp Fest, I found that my Harrison Harmonica was missing from my carry on suitcase. Last time I'd seen it was at the TSA screening...(in case you guys didn't know, the X-ray of harmonicas looks to them like gun magazines, so a physical search should be no surprise). I called their lost and found and had to explain why a "harmonica" was so valuable, much to their amusement. However, they had not found one.
The next day, Vicki (my partner) found it on the driveway. Apparently it had somehow popped out of the luggage when I pulled it from the car.
There's nothing like that rush of adrenaline when you realize that your greatest fear was no longer! ---------- The Iceman
