Last night after the gig, the sound tech says to me “it’s nice to mix a show where the sound floor is set by you (ie: the harp/vocal) instead of the drums. That doesn’t happen much!”
The audience seemed to like it too. Outdoors, at night...it’s nearly winter here and the fire pits were active. I had lights in my eyes but in the brief moments I could actually see beyond the mic, I saw dancers and people watching the band.
The best picture I had was the food van, away to the left, which was lit up like a screen in the surrounding darkness, and the young woman who was working there, grooving away to the band as she cleaned up.
