Here is the criteria:
- sealed or easy to seal wood comb - screws/no nails like the MB - can ob/od w/o squeaking (I like Golden Melody Reeds) * I don't mind customizing my harps at all - not more than $60ish dollars - can readily be found in various keys Bonus if they have replaceable reed plates or I can replace individual reeds, and they have low keys
What I don't care about:
- who makes them - how they are tuned - having to emboss, tip scoop, open covers, etc.
So far, I haven't found anything that can beat a Golden Melody, so I might have to order some wood combs. I know other Hohners have the same reeds but different reed plates...not sure which ones though. I like the Suzuki Firebreath, but they aren't as thick and I feel my emouchre isn't as wide when I use them.

I see the Manji exists in Low F...very tempting, but I can't find anyone stocking them for $45-ish...just the list price at the Suzuki site. Rockin' Ron has some, but I have some sweet harps in most of those keys...thinking about it though! ---------- Mike Fugazzi http://www.myspace.com/niterailband http://www.youtube.com/user/NiteRail http://www.twitter.com/NiteRail http://www.facebook.com/mike.fugazzi

Talked to Ron...sounds like the Low F is delayed, but we emailed back and forth about the Seydel. He seems like a really cool guy! I'll let you know if I pull the trigger on anything. I really enjoy tweaking my own harps, but might put another order in with Buddha...I need to sleep on things. ---------- Mike Fugazzi http://www.myspace.com/niterailband http://www.youtube.com/user/NiteRail http://www.twitter.com/NiteRail http://www.facebook.com/mike.fugazzi

So what kind of customizing do you like? That would only leave gapping... no?
Btw. sounds like a Manji or Crossover to me.

Sorry, I meant that I would do all of those things. I like to do all of it.
The Firebreaths are a great deal, but those are the ones I already have. ---------- Mike Fugazzi http://www.myspace.com/niterailband http://www.youtube.com/user/NiteRail http://www.twitter.com/NiteRail http://www.facebook.com/mike.fugazzi
