Looks like that part has "stuff" in it! I guess more duct tape and a bigger hammer isn't the answer.

Not sure with that one Sticks. The ones I'm thinking of had a thick hollow cylinder right up to the widened head. Your one looks a bit different. Ideas anyone?

I didn't see the holes at the bottom of the sheet of paper with the chainsaw and I thought it was a decorated workspace towel or mat and suddenly I wanted one.

Ditto. It's very likely that the black plastic cylinder on the back of the element is just an empty plastic canister put there fro acoustic reasons, and to give more mounting area to hold the element in the ball of the mic. You *should* be able to remove it or cut into it with no problems. Take some high res photo's of it from different angles and put them on your photobucket page. I'll take a look at them and give you a second opinion then.

The cartridges I have, that back part was hollow so it was easy to see what was coming off. Looks like your is closed, so hard to say what is in there!!!! So, do you feel lucky, punk!!! (OK, you have to imagine Dirty Harry for that to work)
