I was thinking about this for some reason at work and figured I,d add this. Aside from getting cotton mouth when playing harp for some unexplained reason,(Hmmmmmm) which is another topic in itself I had thought of something, good advise for new harpers when performing.Years back I had been fighting a bad cold prior to opening up for Johnny Copeland not thinking anything about it I took the normal dose of an antihistime.Into about the 3rd or 4th # I went to rip into a solo and the saliva done went south, which is a real bitch when your ready to solo in front of a house of people.Of course when my solo was over and I wet my whistle things were a little better and I wet it at any possible time for the rest of the set,All Was Good.I just figured this may be some good food for thought, something I wish I had thought about.

I,m a beer drinker, with water/lemon in between to keep my head clear.I do have my share to keep the whistle wet although I sing all of the #,s,35 to 40 per gig so I like to keep things together and not over do it.I don,t drink booze its just not my bag.As for the beer drinking we all know that drinking beer while playing can lead to so sticky funk building up inside the harps,so as much as I,d like to take the time to clean them up after playing ,sometimes it doesn,t happen. And I wonder why they don,t last like they use to.And as I,m getting older, late niters,I wonder why I don,t bounce back " the morning after" like I use to.
