Lol, well yeah probably this one but there's other fish in the sea & they started nibbling at my bait! I can't blame computers for this assbackwards company.

Computers, like pigs, are nicer then people :D . Well, non blues/harmonica people ;-) .

Let's bring back the old Commodore Amiga.

I hated to retire it. I use Macs for everything now.
My old G4 is over six years old never been in the shop.
I have a 20 inch intel mac fast as lightening.

lol i had a commodore. that was my first computer. i loved that thing. anyways im done. an i had to go to best buy an spend $80 on a new mouse cause mine was no good. reason why i was reformating. but it turned out to not fix it cause the mouse was bad. but everything else is better now regardless. but im pissed off that i needed a new mouse cause thats less money towards my amp.

i hate computers.

My 4yr old os x laptop from when I was in college died a few weeks ago. Since it was unexpected & died when I was in the process of getting an external hard drive for back up (irony) I lost all kinds of cool harmonica related stuff I had on there. I replaced it with a $1000 laptop just two days before the HPC3. I didn't have the time to familiarize myself with my new computer to participate in the HPC3. I feel your pain jon :) .

@Jon

How do you backup your entire disk, copy everything off it, reformat it, reinstall the OS and get everything back on it in 12 MINUTES???? I've got a 3.06 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo Mac w/ 500Mb drive and there's no way I can do that in under an hour. I want to know your secret! (Or did I misunderstand the task at hand....?)

@ jonsparrow -
hahahahaha..."more space then ill ever need"

I've said that every time I have upgraded to a larger drive (for lack of space) I'm running out again...

True tho... 1.5 TB is a HUGE drive.

I had on of those Commodores too...
spend an hour typing in a program to watch 10 seconds of fireworks. Save it to floppy cause there wasn't even a hard drive. Man, times have changed !

@greg i think you misread. check the times of my posts.

12:57pm i started backing up
2:09pm i was done backing up
4:12pm i was done reformatting an went to best buy down the street.

so it took about 3 hours give or take.

Javajoe- I say the same thing. I actually set my hard drive up so that it would back up data, but now I'm out of space. I've got 128 Gig on one hard drive and most of an old 40 Gig filled too. I collect music more than videos, but I store all my music on my drive. If I was more like my brother (600 videos or so) and I stored them on there a 1.5 TB drive might seem a little cramped.

Once I had to move folders off my computer just so I could save more Lol Cats.

I only use Gnu/Linux.

It's free (free in two senses: free of charge and you are free to know what your computer is doing at all times). It's faster than Windows or Mac. I've never *had* to reinstall, although I have a few times. Nowadays, it takes between 15 and 25 minutes for a complete install.

I only ever used Windows for about six months back in 1999-2000. No reason to use it today. In fact, I can hardly believe that people tolerate paying lots of money for software and still having to scan for viruses and other malware.
