I broke my seydel solist yesterday and was wondering what i shoudl buy to replace it. Im looking for a good harp to keep in my jacket for playing in the car. something a little more durable than the seydel solist. thanks

None of them last forever but some off the shelf Hohner should be fine. It depends if you prefer slotted or non-slotted covers, plasic or hood combs. Hohnner Marine band or Special 20 maybe. They are fine harps and not too expensive.

If you open up the back on something make sure it comes with a good box to carry it in, otherwise you can get lint and they have less cover support. The Special 20's have a pretty solid cover. GM's seem particularly sturdy. My Seydel Blues Favorite feels like it could be used as a weapon. Actually, as long as you don't step on them, even little plastic Piedmont's are pretty tough. They are so light that even you drop em the aren't heavy enough to damage themselves.
