I just would like to say thanks to every one here that has contributed knowledgeable answers to my more than likely rudimentary questions!HaHa!! I've made some well informed decisions since. And on that note, here is another question.Any one have any exp. with the Shaker Mad Dog or Cat series of Mics? The premise seems sound, no fighting with a bulky mic,but how do the sound? I am contemplating trying one,but would value any opinions you fellas would have!!

I heard one for the first time last week. To tell you the truth , it was not as bad as I thought it would be. It was not bad at all. I was totally surprised. It was an older MadCat. ---------- Music is your own experience, your own thoughts, your wisdom. If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn. They teach you there's a boundary line to music. But, man, there's no boundary line to art. - Charlie Parker

Shaker mic's are not cheap new, and I have noticed a reluctance on this forum to recomend any of their models. I own 2, a shaker dynamic stick mic and a retro rocket High Z. In general I use my old 'too heavy' bullet at gigs. I won't opinionate on them but would say, there is a lot of choice out there. Southbound, look back on the many discussion threads on this forum with very informative posts by people who have gone down every avenue looking for that Holy Grail sound, you could build your own..
