Hey folks, I am looking into getting some pedals for gigs and came across a guitar player here in town that is looking to sell his FBV EXPRESS™ MkII. He is selling pretty cheap and it is barely used (he is a very part time hobbiest)

http://line6.com/footcontrollers/fbvexpressmkii.html

It has 4 stomp pedals and a large volume controller. they are all adjustable and get the standard range of reverb, delay, overdrive, distortion, etc.. and digital amp effects.

My concern/question is that if this is good for harp players then why does it seem none of the pros use them?

Anyone have any experience with these things or similar ones?

Just curious, I am going to arrange to borrow it for a week or so and give it a try but thought I would ask here first for any tips or cautions.

thanks for reading and any help is appreciated.

Try it and see what you think. Be critical.
After spending too much of things that "almost worked" I got this:

It also matter what microphone you use, the amp you use, if it has been modded, and the type of music you play.

When trying it, ask your gig-mates what they think, and be sure to mention you are just trying it.

I have a LoneWolf Delay, and it is FANTASTIC. So, if you could get one of those I'd get it and then possibly get a cheaper pedal board at some point with a 1spot power supply.

I guess i should have also mentioned I am looking to get a set up with the ability to use lots of effects. We play a wide range of stuff and not just blues so I would like to get a lot of different sounds.

of course in the end trying it out will be the decider, just wondering if folks have bought these before, then regretted it and why.

Randy - that lone wolf rocks...and good tip about flying it past my gigmates.

Zack - that pedal sounds awesome, if this doesnt pan out i may go with one of those.

FWIW: When acquiring effects, don't look for "sounds." Look for harp friendly pedals that interact with your playing technique--effects that you can make make do interesting things depending on HOW you play, not just pedals that give you sound effects.
