Keep in mind though, he goes through them and makes them all gig worthy.

One person? I don't think so. Certainly not me.

1) I may BID on just about any Model 1 or 2, but I do not win all the auctions. I only pay reasonable prices or I would lose money on them. There are plenty of people willing to pay way too much for an eBay amp.

2) I have shipped to Europe and Australia. When you consider it costs over $200 to ship a Kalamazoo to France, for example, it calls into question whether it's worth that much. Plus - amps DO get damaged in shipping. It is very rare, but it happens, and clearly the further it travels the higher the likelihood. I don't like anyone to get an amp that doesn't work. When it happens domestically I bring the amp back and fix it at my expense.

Insurance you say? Have you ever tried to make an insurance claim with UPS or the post office? On a vintage item with no clear way to authenticate its value? I have. Twice. Once on an inbound amp I bought, sent via USPS; once on an amp I shipped UPS - clearly dropped hard on a box corner. They do EVERYTHING they can to deny your claim. Ultimately I prevailed in both cases, but it took MONTHS and multiple letters, phone calls, faxes. GIANT PITA. So I recommend against international shipping.

I have several international customers who've arranged to pick their amps up in the States and hand carry them.....

It is amazing how the value of Kalmazoos, Silvertones, mascos, bogens have gone up in price in the last few years. You make me laugh Greg calling a Kalamazoo vintage, but I guess it is!

Are a silvertone as good as a kalamazoo?
