thanks for everybody's input.i newly decovered the blues thanks to gussow.my root's are rock and love stuff like supertramps school and long way home. a lot of rock groups i've fond uses higher pitched harps.just kind of wandered if they use effects. for these longer wahs and such.iv'e learned nothing really replace;s the ability to do this within our own abilities.

wah wah technique is simply cupping the harmonica with no gaps and opening your right hand to let the sound out and closing it again. Practice it carefully, acoustically, until you get that great clear wah wah effect, good luck..

The more airtight the hand cup you make the more dramatic the wah will be. Sometimes you'll want to do it full on, sometimes less. If you get the cup just right there will be a moment when the harp volume drops off tremendously.

Mrdannydo Sometimes a bit of delay helps on the high pitched harps. This would be the case for me when I play the intro for Supertramps Longway Home which uses an F harp.
