Can they be used directly into a PA, and if so which would be the one (or more) to get, harp attack, harp break, or tone+?

I play all TB and look for crunchy steriotypical 50's sound of a small overdriven fender etc, but dont want to buy an expensive boutique amp. (As good as they are. Though at some point I may have to buy a marble)

I bought myself a Harp Attack pedal at christmas time. I have used it a few times at a couple of jam nights, straight onto the PA with my own mic (Shure 565SD – set to its Hi Z setting).

I can honestly say this pedal is a great alternative to using a tube amp. Really nice break up and cuts through the sound without needing to be too loud.

Both the Harp Attack, with warm distortion from its power tube, and the Harp Break sound GREAT as amp 'replacements' right into a PA or clean solid-state amp. With the Harp Attack, you may need a cheap DI box/pedal with a -20Db cut on it, as you sometimes might notice some unwated additonal distortion on the PA. I know I need to get one, as I have experienced this.

Hi

I bought a Harp Attack pedal ast year and to be honest i was not that much convinced. I think it does not really have balls compared to a real amp. However sent it to Michael Timler who thinks it's a very good stand alone solution.

I'd consider trying an Digitech RP 355 and Richard Hunters patchset for it. Great sound and very versatile.

Harp Attack to PA is ok (especially with harpdelay and DI box) but not as good as real tube amp.
But sometimes I love harp attack to big solid state amp (guitar or bass) more than my real tube amp!
