No he's not, but I got your attention. Please check out my new youtube video entitled -alternate tuning harmonica. I was trying out the seven draw flattened tuning. I saw Todd Parrott 's Youtube video and was inspired to try it out. I really like it. It gives it that Stevie Wonder type trill sound.
Damn! We're too late DevonTom bluemoose did it. I watched your video and I thought there was some fabulous harp playing there. I'm pleased I saw it and I'm pleased to find another right handed player.Thanks.
Are you having problems with embeding videos? What you described is exactly how you do it. Just copy the embed code into the thread. Let me know if you can't do that.
You said it was a cheap harp. What on earth was it?

there was a line of url text {see above} and an embed text. I tried both. I highlighted them went up to edit and pressed copy, went to the forum clicked on the new message box and then up to paste. Nothing.
The harp was a Planetone pocket harp in D. In the video I go for the 9 blow bend and it goes,'' you get what you pay for buddy". I didn't want to risk a decent harp though.
We sell Merano harps at my work and they are similar quality. Merde. but it does mean I am used to playing dodgy example harps for the customers if they can only afford a cheap harp. Better a cheap harp than none at all.
Just watched that again Tom. Boy! That was outstanding. I'm pleased to make your acquaintance and look forward to seeing more in the future. Does your DevonTom Handle indicate your are from Devon in the UK? If so, I'm so proud you are a Brit.
I'll remove my previous posts so as not to gum-up your thread.
Runs to find old Planetone Harp.

Devon Tom, where in Arizona? I'm in Tempe (in the Greater Phoenix Metro), Buddha is in Gilbert (also Phx metro), and Sirsucksalot is way down in southern Arizona (somewhere's south of Tucson). ---------- ------------------ The magnificent YouTube channel of the internet user known as "isaacullah"
BTW, great playing there! At one point I was playing around with alternate tunings, and I had considered creating a harp with the major fifth (ie. country tuned) but that also had that minor third on the 7 draw. I never did get around to it, and now I overblow good enough, so now I don't need to! ;)
Oh, and by your other post, is sounds like you work in a Music Shop, and it might be one that actually caters to harp players. If you do, which store is it? I'd LOVE to find a local AZ shop that stocks a good range of harps... ---------- ------------------ The magnificent YouTube channel of the internet user known as "isaacullah"
I see on your YouTube that it's Tucson thats where you live. You don't happen to work in that awesome Chicago Store music shop on Congress street?? That place is THE coolest music shop I've been to in this state... ---------- ------------------ The magnificent YouTube channel of the internet user known as "isaacullah"
I work in the 17th guitars and World Music store here in good ol' Tucson.I wish I could say we had a huge selection of harps, but I do not have control of the purse strings. We have got a kick ass cd selection though, . From Staff Benda Bilili from the Congo to Slim Harpo to The Hot Spot soundtrack ( John Lee Hooker with Miles Davis). Congratulations Blue Moose!
