There has been some talk about 8", 10" and 12" speakers lately but how are your experiences with 15" speakers? Most guys say the smaller the better but my best sounding harp amp is by far my self built 5E5A Tweed Pro with a '61 Chicago Jensen C15N. Is anybody else usin one?

Yes indeed. Clark Penrose (5E5A copy)... This has a Weber version of a P15R in it.

One of my first amps was an Ampeg Reverb-a-Rocket that had a 15" instead of the stock 12" speaker. I used it, paired with a Mouse, on HARLEM BLUES. I liked that amp.

EV630, I like that opening riff. It sounds very familiar. Where's it from?

Scooter at Meteor Amps is making a Mini-Meat with a 15" speaker-Kim Wilson and Rick Estrin had direct input as far as speakers-they both preffered the Jensen Vintage speaker.

My valve junior sounds awesome through an 18" subwoofer I have, but it is an inefficient one (94db/1watt/im) that sucks the volume out of the little guy. I think with a 50 watt tube amp it would be amazing...except for the 100 pound carry for the speaker alone.

Great tone and great playing there!

These 15 inchers have one big advantage besides sounding nice: you get a whole lot of speaker surface with the weight of just one magnet.

Thanks - yeah that's the opening phrase from Hoodoo Man, John Lee Williamson, then I go into a Little Walter lick or two.
