Im starting to make my own harp mikes out of harley davidson turn signal shells. i have recently got my mits on a shure condenser element and am not sure how the wiring should go, Any help would be awesome.....i understand that "phantom power " may be needed.?

Hi Jambo Rharley5652 is a member of MBH he Sells the Harley Bullet Blinkers on Ebay i'm sure he can help you out with this one he seems like a nice Guy allways willing to help out I'm sure,,allso check out Isaaculla on Youtube he is allso a Staunch MBH member willing to help out he has some instruction vids on His YOUTUBE Page helping out in this feild,,allso Check me out on Youtube nastyolddog i have a fun microphone instruction vid How to make a Blues Harp mic from a telephone it will help you out Im Sure..Just hang in there some one will come along soon to help you out some more..

Say Jambo ,..drop me a message at the link below,..well talk & ya can have a look at my Rharley Original Silver Bullet,..I don't think ya'all want to go with condenser element's ,.I can tell ya this with out turnin this into a DIY forum ,.stay with The Dynamic or Shure CM's ,..not much room inside those shells,..

Gonna agree with rharley here- you won't get much in the way of tone out of a condenser -they tend to sound nasty when overdriven, which is in the end what a bullet shell is for. Shure CM/CRs, EV dynamics, crystals....

Hi
Steve Baker used a condensor element in a JT30 shell for a few years, and he had a decent tone with it, can't say what element he used exactly though. He's back to CR/CM now i think.
Starting your mic building with a condensor is probably not really a good idea, it will make things unnecessary difficult and your chances for a good mic with that kind of element are low...
